Had a great week. My first Olympic distance race went better than planned. The training and nutrition plan worked well and made me optimistic that I'm finding what's best for my body. I had very little soreness from my race and was able to get right back to training and ending the week strong. I had to take an extra rest day on Friday due to work, and thus had to double up the swim and bike on Saturday. I was beat yesterday morning after that brick workout. Today, however, I bested my previous 1:45 training run by over a mile and felt much stronger during and after the run. The weather is helping a lot. Today's run and yesterday's bike were very pleasant with temps in the 70's and 80's.
With only 20 days left before BDB, I'm growing more excited by the day. It will be a day for the ages and the continuation of what I hope will be our annual adventure vacation.
Kia Kaha!
